Influence of Particle Size, Additive Ratio and Chemical Structure of Zinc Borate on Thermal and Mechanical Properties of Polyvinyl Chloride

Zinc borate (ZB) is a flame retardant and smoke supressant compound of boron. It widely used to achieve resistant polymer composites. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) one the commercially important polymers mostly for cable insulating, pen door, pipes, floorings, toys etc.. On other hand, PVC relases toxic gases during fire as decomposition products. doping thought be solution this problem. However, leads new effects mechanical properties PVC. Mechanical composites were determined by tensile test, impact hardness test thermomechanical behaviours detected with dynamic analysis (DMA). In present study, optimize contribution zinc borate, powder different formulations (2ZnO·3B2O3·3.5H2O 4ZnO·B2O3·H2O), additive ratios (1% 5% weight) particle sizes (nano‒sized micro‒sized) added structure each composite investigated.
